Fully homogenized short pulse width excimer-based
laser ablation system with small foot print.

New Wave™ Research introduces the UP-193FX. The original short pulse width (<5ns) excimer-based laser ablation system. UP193-FX is a small foot print, fully self-contained laser ablation system. These features will enable UP193-FX to be portable for ultimate flexibility and versatility.

New Wave™ Research is the only company world wide providing a comprehensive 193nm laser ablation solution to our customers. Having a wide variety of 193nm laser ablation solutions, will enable the end user to select the best system for any specific application to achieve optimum analytical results.

UP193-FX like all other Universal Platform products is a highly configurable system with variety of sample chambers and accessories to address all application needs.

UP193-FX offers a full compliment of analytical tools including auto-sampling, sample-mapping and other unique features for in-situ and bulk analysis. The system is designed to target micro-features such as defects and inclusions with spots down to 2-µm diameter (2µm diameter will be under special configuration).

The superior crater morphology of the UP-193FX™ will enable the system to provide superior performance on wide variety of applications such as profiling and fluid inclusions.

Advantages
Low depth penetration rate and enhanced crater morphology in all materials with minimal fractionation
Short pulse width and high irradiance of the UP193-FX insures efficient wavelength coupling
The ability to switch rapidly from one aperture setting to another is often crucial for certain analytical techniques like fluid inclusion analysis
Low cost of operation due to low consumption of gas for laser operation
